Welcome to Lake Kurwongbah Water Ski Zone Inc

A great day skiing with friends and family

A perfect end to an amazing day on the water

We are a not-for-profit community Club set up to manage and promote social and tournament water skiing on Lake Kurwongbah. The Club was established in 1959, and has been overseen by Pine Rivers Shire Council and later Moreton Bay Regional Council then Seqwater at various times throughout its history.

Lake Kurwongbah Water Ski Zone

Seqwater, a Queensland government owned corporation, currently oversees the administration of water skiing on the lake. LKWSZ Inc is allowed to issue 90 permits only, and skiing is 7 days a week.

Lake Kurwongbah is a very small lake located just north of Brisbane in the suburbs of Petrie and Kurwongbah. Due to its small size, close proximity to metropolitan Brisbane and the presence of highly contagious Cabomba weed, the lake is not open to the public for water skiing. LKWSZ INC does run Charity Ski Days twice per year for Make A Wish Foundation, Sporting Wheelies, Legacy and Variety to ski behind member boats. All equipment and training is provided, and there is no cost to attendees. LKWSZ INC also runs Come and Try days for members of the public to ski behind member boats. All equipment and gear is provided, and we accept donations to pass onto our charities. If your charity would be interested in getting involved with our charity ski day, or you would like to attend our next Public Come and Try Ski Day, please email events@lkwsz.org.au.
